Some people believe that there should be a fixed punishment for each type of crime. Others, however, argue that the circumstances of an individual crime, and the motivation for committing it, should always be taken into account when deciding on the punishment.

Some people believe that having a fixed punishment for each kind of crime is a good idea. However, i would argue that the penalty should be decided by considering the circumstance and motivation of the offence.

There are several good reasons why fixed punishments should be applied. Firstly, this is clear and easy for the authority to implement. When each crime has its own penalty there is no lawyers needed and no discussion nor arguments on the crime. Secondly, not only would this help reduce the burden on the judge and the authority system, it would also deter the criminal from committing offence by showing them the clear and fixed "price" which they have to pay if they decide to offend.

However, I believe that judging the criminal based on the circumstances and their motivation when committing the crime would make our society a more humane system. This would help define good moral criminals, who are able to come back the society and continue to benefit it, among bad ones. For example, it would be a big difference between the one who killed someone in order to protect others and the want who had a clear motivation to offend. Besides, taking circumstances and motivation into account would help the judge make the best decision. By examining carefully all these factors they might find the determining elements to decide the right punishment for offenders.

In conclusion, even though, having a certain set of punishment for each crime may have some benefits i still believe that we should consider other factors like circumstances and motivation when deciding the final penalty.

Marriages are bigger and more expensive nowadays than in the past. Why is this the case? Is it a negative or positive development?

There is an obvious fact that marriages today are held in a larger scale and more costly in compared to those weddings celebrated in the past. This trend can be seen as both negative and positive development which is affected by several reasons ranging from internal to external factors.

Coming to the reason why wedding ceremony are bigger and pricey, we can commence first with internal causes which people tend to have a larger wedding this day. People tend to be more generous in this one in the life time occasion especially when having a large number of friends in their circle. Inviting friends, relatives and beloved ones to a luxurious and well organized wedding in a well known restaurant, for example, would fulfill the hosts' satisfaction as they would like to show their hospitality and perhaps to parade their family's wealth. For the external factors, as a matter of fact, marriage services have become better over the time. Marriage industry is growing fast and offering full and professional services which would satisfy their customers and of course it helps add up to the total cost of the ceremony. Lastly, with the aid of the internet, media medium and modern transportation, people feel more connected and easy to travel to the wedding party and have fun together.

The impact of this trend on our life can be both positive and negative. One the one hand, as the purpose of weddings is to express good wishes to a "new connection," the happier the bride and broom might feel whenever more people join the party. Besides, having many friends and beloved one come to the ceremony also is a chance to improve the relationship between them and to expand their network which can be valuable for someone doing business. On the other hand, this can be a big waste of money when people try to empty their pockets for the marriages then try hard to earn them back. Also, this tendency of spending large on weddings can urge the rest of population to follow. Looking at this in a big picture, it could be dangerous for the development of a nation and highly affect the middle and low classes.

In conclusion, marriages are larger and cost more people's money than the past. This fact can be caused by internal or external factor and this affects our life and society in different dimensions.

When a country develops its technology, the traditional skills and ways of life die out. It is pointless to try and keep them alive. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Living in a fast moving world we are affected vastly by the changing technologies that we encounter or use on a daily basic. While agree that these things are killing our traditional skills and changing our life styles I  think that there should be alternative ways to help old and new technologies grow cooperatively.

Advanced technology has changed completely the way we communicate with others, produce goods, and live as well. The industrial revolution in the 1900's, for instance, introduced machines that changed the workforce and the way we live to what we know. Today, we would rather write an email or pick up a phone call to communicate with our friends or business partners than to write a letter and send them via pigeons in order to save time. Besides, by developing new technologies we no longer have to use lagging skills to produce products on small scales and we can make fine products instead on large scales.

Apart from the obvious facts above, I also believe that if we invest in traditional crafts properly we can still keep them thriving. Traditional crafts at a certain degree represent our culture; if we can develop these skills parallel with cultural development it will certainly give traditional skills a place to stand. By this, not only would it benefits the economy but it would also keep the tradition alive and help educate the younger generations on the culture and history of the nation. Craftsmen producing silk products with the aid of of the government may thrive in introducing their expertise through several cultural festivals and fairs or classes helping children to understand the national culture.

In conclusion, I agree that with the effects of modern technology on our life is huge. However, if we try to find effective ways to support old crafts they can still thrive.

[Task1] Table - Employment percentages of different age groups

The table below shows the  in which sector of the economy different age groups were employed. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, making comparisons where relevant

Given the table provides the information on employment proportion of 9 different economy sectors by 3 age groups: 18-25, 25-40 and 40-65.

Overall, the sector having the most people working in is manufacturing while the least one is accountancy.

In the youngest age group, people prefer to work mostly in retail, manufacturing, health and other. This is quite similar to the middle age group, but this group also prefer to work in education and local government sector. The oldest group also work mostly in manufacturing but they work in retail more or less the same with the middle group's which less than 4 times that the youngest one do.

All three groups are less likely to work in law and accountancy which is accountable for 4 in law, and around 3 in accountancy, the 25-40 years-old group even has the least number working in accountancy which is just 2. Local government and education are two common sectors which all people want to work for.

Some people think that how children and the young behave should be responsibility of parents, not schools and governments. Do you agree or disagree?

Some people say that parents are who in charge of how children and young people behave while others argue that this should be the responsibility of the government and schools who affect adolescence’s behaviour. In my opinion both of the parties should be accountable.

On the one hand, children are raised up by their children and somehow by genes or the ways parents behave will result in the young children’s style. Scientifically, the child will inherit partly  the gene combined by their parents, not solely  would this affect their apparance such as hair/eye color but also their behavior somewhat. Being surounded by their parrents in their early years would have a strong impact in the way the child see the world and contact with things around them. For instance, children may be introverted if in their early life they do not receive adaquate care from their parrents.

On the other hand,  when children reach their school age,  studying in school would add a big difference to their behaviour. Surounding by colleagues and teachers every day from moring to afternoon might change their style quicker than staying with their parrent only the evening. Because in this fast moving and modern world most of young parrents have to work hard and leave their children for schools or baby sisters. Besides, we are all living within a set of certain constitution and laws, the way we beave should be changed follow the standard set. In this case, the young people living in the same society have to understand these norms and apply them in their life.

In conclusion, I believe that parrents, schools or government should all be responsible for the youth’s behavior.
